Ruhuna thrash SLC Combined XI
A hundred run opening stand between skipper Upul Tharanga (41) and Sanath Jayasuriya (87) and an excellent fast bowling spell from Lasith Malinga (4/21) set up a massive 191-run win for Ruhuna over Sri Lanka Cricket Combined XI in their Inter-Provincial limited overs match played at Galle International stadium yesterday.
Batting first Ruhuna put up an imposing total of 293 runs for the loss of six wickets but the young SLC Combined XI never showed signs of reaching the target as wickets fell at regular intervals. Only three batsmen managed to reach double figures for the young team with Banuka Rajapaksa scoring a magnificent half ton. Rajapaksa in his 61 ball 59 had nine boundaries and a six.

Mendis and Jayasinghe heroes for Kandurata
Two unbeaten half tons by Jeewan Mendis (67) and Chinthaka Jayasinghe (69) steered Kandurata to a comfortable 52-run win over Basnahira North in their Inter Provincial cricket fixture at Colts grounds yesterday.
Kandurata lost five wickets for 102 runs but the duo shared an unbeaten 151 runs for the six wickets to score a formidable 253 runs. Angelow Mathews top scored with 52 runs for Basnahira North.

Bandara’s double helps Basnahira South
Leg spinner Malinga Bandara scored a fine double (59 n.o.) and (2/54) as Basnahira South recorded an 18-run win over Wayamba in their Inter-Provincial match at Kurunegala yesterday.
Farveeze Maharoof scored a 72 ball 70 runs with 4 boundaries and two sixes to take Wayamba closer to the target but Bsanahira South held nerve to win a close fight.
