Muslim-owned store in Pepilayana comes under attack, STF deployed

A Muslim-owned store in Pepiliyana, had come under attack from an unidentified group including Buddhist monks, reports said last evening. The police and the elite Special Task Force (STF) police had reportedly brought the situation under control afterwards.

According to local media reports, the unidentified group had started attacking a showroom of the Fashion Bug main store in Pepiliyana. Several people have been injured and several vehicles and the building have sustained damages, reports said. Heavy army, police and STF presence could be seen at the scene and the situation has been brought under control police sources said.
