nc1Sri Lankan cricketers selected to play for the Indian Premier League except Dinesh Chandimal, Nuwan Kulasekara and Akila Dananjaya have decided to participate in the tournament, Sri Lanka Cricket said on Monday.

Speaking to media, Acting SLC CEO Ashley De Silva said that accordingly Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena, T.M. Dilshan, Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, Kusal Janith, Jeevan Mendis, Ajantha Mendis, Thisara Perera and Sachithra Senanayake will leave the country shortly.

Altogether 13 Sri Lankan players were scheduled to take part in the sixth edition of the IPL starting April 3, out of which 10 would take part.

They were withdrawn from matches to be played in Chennai after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa refused to host them in view of the prevailing anti-Sri Lankan sentiments in the state.
