nc10Ousted Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake will make a full statement pertaining to her alleged ‘non declaration of assets and liabilities and bank accounts’ on May 17, to the Bribery Commission, sources said.

When the inquiry was taken up on Monday morning at the Bribery Commission, the two inquiring officers were informed by the legal team of the ousted Chief Justice that they would submit answers to the inquiry and file objections against the Commission’s Jurisdiction and bias on May 17.

When the inquiry was taken up on March 18, Dr. Bandaranayake had informed the inquiring officers that she objected to the presence of certain members of the Commission.
The Commission comprises Justice D.J.De S. Balapatabendi (Chairman), Justice L.K.  Wimalachandra and Dr. Jayantha Wickramaratne.

Sources said that the ousted Chef Justice was willing to make a full statement regarding to the inquiry despite her objections to the Jurisdiction of the Bribery Commission and alleged bias of certain commissioners.
Therefore, Dr. Bandanayake is scheduled to file both her objections and her answers on the same day.
