UNP to draft new constitution for SL, MP Rajapaksa to be handed task

L-News---WR-PhotoThe main opposition UNP has taken measures to draft a new constitution for the country to address the current issues, according to the party sources. The party has also decided to appoint a committee to draft the constitution. Its Colombo district MP and former Bar association President Wijedasa Rajapaksa is slated to be appointed as the Chairman of the committee.

UNP general secretary and MP Tissa Attanayake has said that the committee would meet for the first time on May 29 to start the drafting of the constitution. He said that all ethnic communities would be consulted and views of other parties would also be taken into account when drafting the new constitution. The party expects to present the draft constitution at the future elections to seek a mandate to enact it, UNP sources said.

Don't waste the time for new constitution. UNP should thanks to Mahinda Rajapakse government because the only government eradicated LTTE and completely wiped out entire LTTE leadership also. In Sri Lanka 80% Sinhalese, 2.8% Sri Lanka Tamils, 4.8%Indian Tamils and 6.8% Moores. See how Mahinda Rajapake government doing now ,same as D.S. Senanayake who made Galoya and Amparai. Same vision and mission the Mahinda Rajapakse is doing now.
