Deputy Chairman of Embilipitiya PS missing

Despite the court warrants, Deputy Chairman of Ambilipitiya Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) Munasinghe Arachchige Chandrasiri has not yet been arrested. A case was filed against him and five others at the Dehiattakandiya Magistrate Court for illegally driving cattle to the Madura Oya National Park.

Earlier the deputy chairman and his five accomplices had been granted bail after they were produced before the court by Wildlife officers. The Deputy Chairman did not appear before the courts when the case was taken for hearing Wednesday, and warrants were issued to arrest him immediately.
