While President Mahinda Rajapaksa was on a collision course with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon over the appointment of an expert panel to advise him on Sri Lanka, Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama has requested for a UN job for his son.
During a Friday press conference at the UN one journalist raised a question in this regard saying that the Sri Lankan media had disclosed that Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama has been writing to the Secretary-General's special envoy Vijay Nambiar, requesting for a job for his son with the UN Secretariat.
Martin Nesirky, spokesperson for the Secretary-General said he was not aware of it. But he promised to find out what it was all about and reply at a later date.
